The new central enterprise China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd. was spun off from China North Industries Group Corporation, and its subsidiaries include Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd., Chenzhi Automotive Technology Group Co., Ltd. and other business segments.
Chenzhi Automotive Technology Group Co., Ltd. was formerly known as China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd., which was established on December 26, 2005. Its legal representative is Zhao Fei. It is wholly owned by China North Industries Group Corporation. Its business focuses on the parts industry chain, such as engines, gearboxes and other automobile-related industrial strategic collaborative businesses.
On June 23, 2025, China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd. was renamed Chenzhi Automotive Technology Group Co., Ltd. The industry believes that this move is to vacate the name of "China Changan Automobile Group" and use it for the reorganized new central enterprise.
Chenzhi Automotive Technology Group Co., Ltd. is also the largest controlling shareholder of Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd., holding 18% of the shares.
Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. is a complete vehicle manufacturing entity with Zhu Huarong as its legal representative. Its business focuses on the research and development, production and sales of complete vehicles. Its brands include Changan Automobile, Changan Qiyuan, Shenlan Automobile, Avita, Changan Kaicheng, etc.
Previously, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. was a second-level subsidiary of China North Industries Group Corporation. After the registration and establishment of China Changan Automobile Group, it will become an independent first-level central enterprise directly supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, on the same level as China First Automobile Group Co., Ltd. and Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd.
It is reported that China Changan Automobile Group plans to hold its founding conference on July 29 and its first media communication meeting after its establishment on July 30. At that time, the group's core management will make a collective appearance and the heads of each sub-brand will give a detailed introduction to the performance in the first half of 2025 and the business plan for the second half of the year.
