On October 13th, a video of a NIO ET7 new energy vehicle catching fire outside the north gate parking lot entrance of Xizhou Ancient Town in Dali City, Yunnan Province, sparked heated discussion on social media. Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang, and the four passengers evacuated promptly, resulting in no casualties. A government official also stated that no collision had occurred before the fire.

Multiple video footage from the scene showed that a NIO new energy car caught fire and burned fiercely, producing a large amount of thick smoke. The passenger door was open, and fire rescue personnel were using water to put out the fire.

On the morning of the 14th, an eyewitness told The Paper that the driver, a family of four, had been visiting Xizhou Ancient Town in Dali from another province. According to the witness, at 3:18 PM on October 13th, the driver had just driven his vehicle to the intersection outside the parking lot when he heard a loud bang. Noticing something was amiss, he immediately stopped the vehicle and evacuated two elderly people and a child. After the family of four exited the vehicle, smoke began to billow and soon caught fire. The vehicle involved was a NIO sedan. "Thankfully, no one was injured, and the doors opened normally," the witness said.

According to staff from the local government department, the vehicle had not been involved in any collision before the incident, and the driver had already left the car when the fire broke out, causing no casualties.

An official from an authoritative department told The Paper that upon receiving the alarm, the fire rescue department immediately dispatched one vehicle and seven personnel from the Xizhou Fire Station to the scene. They arrived at 3:22 PM and began responding. By 3:51 PM, the fire had been extinguished at the Xizhou Fire Station. By 5:09 PM, the response was complete, with no casualties reported.
