With the rapid development of new energy vehicles, can a gasoline-powered SUV still win the favor and recognition of consumers in the market?
At a recent CR-V technology evolution seminar held in Hangzhou, Zhao Lei, deputy director of the Dongfeng Honda New Model Center, said, "It may not be number one, but it will achieve excellent standards in every dimension," revealing the simple truth behind the continuous hot sales of a gasoline-powered car for 30 years.

In October of this year, the CR-V sold 15,148 units, with a cumulative sales volume of 141,425 units from January to October. Looking back over the past 30 years, this SUV, which has undergone six generations of development, has been sold in more than 160 countries around the world, has more than 3.2 million users in the Chinese market, and has achieved a cumulative global sales volume of over 15 million units, making it a true "evergreen" in the automotive industry.
The market's assessment of the CR-V is that it has no obvious shortcomings, and this "balanced" product philosophy aligns with the needs of most family car buyers: the most important thing when buying a car is not a cool technology, but basic needs such as space, fuel consumption, reliability, comfort, and safety.

Regarding the product philosophy of the CR-V, Zhao Lei said: "When we launched this car, our core concept was to use a 'full-dimensional' approach to achieve a very well-rounded product."
The Dongfeng Honda CR-V Global 30th Anniversary Edition, launched this year, also exemplifies this approach. The new model has created a stir in the market with its strategy of "maintaining tradition while innovating" and "adding features without increasing the price."

The new car adheres to traditional principles in terms of space design and fuel efficiency, while its intelligent upgrades represent innovation. The CR-V Global 30th Anniversary Edition features the Honda CONNECT 4.0 intelligent connectivity system and Honda's self-developed Honda SENSING 360+ safety system, significantly enhancing the product's market competitiveness through "intelligent integration of gasoline and electric power."
"Once users get used to a good intelligent experience, they can't go back," Zhao Lei said. "But what we care more about is whether these functions are really useful and easy to use in your daily driving."

While many brands are busy telling stories of the future of electrification and intelligence, the CR-V has spent 30 years proving that no matter how technology changes, the essence of a car is ultimately about human mobility solutions.
