
On October 5th, a video of an Avita 06 car suddenly catching fire in Dongbi Village, Sansha Town, Ningde City, Fujian Province, sparked heated discussion online. The video showed the Avita 06 catching fire, causing several surrounding vehicles, including Audi, BMW, and Mazda, to catch fire and explode. On October 9th, Avita Technology issued a statement stating, "Relevant departments are further investigating other possible causes of the fire."
According to a Sanxiang Metropolis Daily report on October 5th, a woman suspected to be the owner of the Avita shared a video of the fire on social media, claiming it was hers. She purchased the car on August 28th of this year, had used it for a month and a half, and had driven it 1,066 kilometers. The video, which surfaced online, showed smoke initially billowing from the passenger seat of the Avita, which then set off fires and explosions in approximately seven surrounding vehicles.
Screenshots of a video previously posted by the woman showed that the temperature inside the car had reached 76.4°C at 2 a.m. that day, before the fire. The woman later removed the video, saying the manufacturer had contacted her and would handle the matter appropriately.
According to an Aion owner who was affected, the cars that were burned were all tourists' cars, and there were no casualties.
On October 9th, Avita Technologies issued a statement stating that on October 5, 2025, a fire broke out in a parking lot of an Avita 06 in Xiapu County, Ningde City, Fujian Province. The Avita team immediately arrived at the scene to assist the user, support the relevant departments in handling the fire, provide complete vehicle data, and cooperate with the fire department in the fire investigation. According to the latest feedback from local authorities, the fire occurred in the passenger seat. At the time of the fire, the battery pack voltage, temperature, and air pressure were normal, and faults in the power battery, drive motor, or high-voltage electronic control were ruled out as possible causes of the fire. Other possible causes of the fire are currently under investigation.
