It is reported that this is the third central enterprise automobile group after China FAW and Dongfeng Motor. It is also the first central automobile enterprise among the central enterprises strategically reorganized by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council to set up its headquarters outside Beijing. It is the first first-level central enterprise headquarters to be welcomed by Chongqing.

The official website of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council immediately released the "Position Adjustment of 10 Leading Personnel from 3 Central Enterprises", officially announcing the members of the leadership team of the newly established central enterprise - China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd.
Among them, Zhu Huarong is appointed as the Party Secretary and Chairman of China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd.; Zhao Fei is appointed as the Deputy Party Secretary and Director of China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd., and is nominated as the candidate for General Manager of China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd.; Tan Benhong is appointed as the Deputy Party Secretary and Director of China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd.; Jia Lishan, Deng Wei and Deng Yueming are appointed as the Standing Committee members of the Party Committee of China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd., and are nominated as the candidates for Deputy General Manager of China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd.; Wang Kun is appointed as the Standing Committee member of the Party Committee of China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd., and is nominated as the candidate for Chief Accountant of China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd.; Pu Xingchuan is appointed as the Standing Committee member of the Party Committee of China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd., and is nominated as the candidate for Deputy General Manager of China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd.
On July 27, China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd. was officially registered and established in Chongqing with a registered capital of 20 billion yuan. The legal representative is Zhu Huarong, Chairman and Party Secretary of Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. The business scope includes automobile sales, auto parts wholesale, and new energy vehicle sales.

The new state-owned enterprise China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd. was formed by the separation of China North Industries Group Corporation. It covers business segments such as Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. and Chenzhi Automotive Technology Group Co., Ltd., and has 117 branches and subsidiaries. Its main businesses include complete vehicles and parts, automobile sales, financial and logistics services, motorcycles, etc.
Chenzhi Automotive Technology Group Co., Ltd. was formerly China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd., which was established on December 26, 2005. Its legal representative is Zhao Fei. It is wholly owned by China North Industries Group Corporation. Its business focuses on the parts industry chain, such as engines, gearboxes and other automobile-related industrial strategic collaborative businesses.
On June 23, 2025, China Changan Automobile Group Co., Ltd. was renamed Chenzhi Automotive Technology Group Co., Ltd. The industry believes that this move is to vacate the name of "China Changan Automobile Group" and use it for the new state-owned enterprise after the reorganization.
Chenzhi Automotive Technology Group Co., Ltd. is also the largest controlling shareholder of Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd., holding 18% of the shares.
Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. is a complete vehicle manufacturing entity with Zhu Huarong as its legal representative. Its business focuses on the research and development, production and sales of complete vehicles. Its brands include Changan Automobile, Changan Qiyuan, Shenlan Automobile, Avita, Changan Kaicheng, etc.
Previously, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. was a second-level subsidiary of China North Industries Group Corporation. After the registration and establishment of China Changan Automobile Group, it will become an independent first-level central enterprise directly supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, on the same level as China First Automobile Group Co., Ltd. and Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd.
The head of China Changan Automobile Group said that the new state-owned enterprise will focus on creating new types of productive forces such as smart car robots, flying cars, and embodied intelligence in the future, explore a new three-dimensional travel ecosystem by land, sea, and air, and accelerate global development, and speed up the development of the five major regional markets of Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa, Central and South America, Eurasia, and Europe.
It is reported that China Changan Automobile Group plans to hold its first media communication meeting after its establishment on July 30. At that time, the group's core management will make a collective appearance, and the heads of each sub-brand will give a detailed introduction to the performance in the first half of 2025 and the business plan for the second half of the year.
In the first half of this year, Changan Automobile achieved an eight-year sales record. Cumulative sales from January to June reached 1.3553 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%. Consolidated revenue for the second quarter of 2025 is projected to be approximately 66.2 billion yuan, a 6.3% increase from the previous quarter.
