On October 28th, the "Easy Car Insurance" platform completed a system upgrade, adding an insurance application portal for high-risk fuel-powered commercial vehicles (including taxis, rental buses, commercial freight vehicles, and non-commercial freight vehicles) in addition to the existing new energy vehicles. Vehicle owners meeting the above service criteria can apply for insurance through the platform's links to insurance companies, and these companies are prohibited from refusing coverage.
The "Car Owner Easy Insurance" platform was launched in January of this year. It provides a convenient online insurance window for new energy vehicles with high payout risks. New energy vehicle owners can purchase insurance through the platform by linking to insurance companies, and insurance companies are not allowed to refuse to insure them.
The insurance application process for gasoline-powered vehicles is the same as that for new energy vehicles. Individual customers can apply for insurance through the "Easy Car Insurance" WeChat service account or Alipay life account. After registering their insurance needs and selecting an insurance company, they will be redirected to the chosen insurance company's application page to complete the application. Corporate customers can visit the website (https://nevis.shie.com.cn), register their insurance needs, and select an insurance company. The relevant insurance company will then proactively contact the corporate customer to provide offline underwriting services.
Officials from the Insurance Association of China and the Shanghai Insurance Exchange stated that the "Easy Auto Insurance" platform will further strengthen customer autonomy in the insurance application process, allowing customers to choose their own underwriting company and insurance type. The platform will not be open to sales channels of insurance intermediaries or insurance companies, strengthening self-regulation and maintaining service stability. Regarding market order, the platform will strengthen the implementation of the "reporting and implementation consistency" regulatory policy for auto insurance, enhance daily management, and prevent issues such as bundled sales, false advertising, and fraudulent claims that disrupt the market and harm consumer rights. The Insurance Association of China and the Shanghai Insurance Exchange will closely monitor the operation of the "Easy Auto Insurance" platform, report any problems discovered, and promptly report serious cases to regulatory authorities.
The State Financial Regulatory Commission (SFC) stated that due to factors such as high usage intensity and high accident rate, some fuel-powered commercial vehicles also face difficulties in obtaining insurance. Considering that fuel-powered commercial vehicles such as trucks and rental cars are closely related to the operation of the national economy and the protection of people's livelihoods, and are an important force in facilitating economic circulation and convenient travel for the public, the SFC is promoting the inclusion of high-risk fuel-powered commercial vehicles in the "Easy Car Insurance" platform. This provides vehicle owners with a new option beyond the conventional insurance channels of insurance companies, striving to achieve "insurance for all who wish to insure, and insurance for all who purchase insurance," thereby improving the sense of gain for truck drivers and other vehicle owners.
Representatives from the Insurance Association of China and the Shanghai Insurance Exchange also stated that with the expansion of the service scope, the types of business underwritten by the platform have increased. When purchasing insurance on the "Easy Car Insurance" platform, consumers should pay attention to whether the vehicle they intend to insure is a service target of the "Easy Car Insurance" platform and accurately register relevant information.
Data from the State Financial Regulatory Commission shows that since its establishment, the "Easy Insurance for Car Owners" platform has operated smoothly overall, effectively alleviating the difficulty of insuring high-risk new energy vehicles. To date, over 1.1 million new energy vehicles have successfully insured through the platform, providing risk protection exceeding 1.1 trillion yuan, and offering consumers convenient and efficient insurance services.
