
The position of general manager of Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Dongfeng Motor") has ended its nearly 8-month vacancy.
According to the official WeChat account of Dongfeng Motor, Dongfeng Motor Corporation held an expanded leadership meeting on October 11. Authorities from the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (DOC) announced the Party Central Committee's decision regarding the appointment of the General Manager of DGM: Feng Changjun is appointed Director, General Manager, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of DGM, and is relieved of his duties as Chief Accountant of DGM.
On February 17, Zhou Zhiping, who had served as Dongfeng Motor's director, general manager, and deputy party secretary for less than 11 months, was transferred to China North Industries Group Corporation (NORINCO) as director, general manager, and deputy party secretary. In July, he assumed the role of chairman and party secretary of China North Industries Group Corporation. Since then, the position of general manager of Dongfeng Motor has been vacant.
Public information shows that Feng Changjun, male, was born in May 1978, joined the Communist Party of China in October 2005, graduated from the Central University of Finance and Economics with a major in accounting, and obtained a master's degree in accounting from Renmin University of China. He is a senior accountant.
Feng Changjun has served in various positions, including Deputy Director of the Budget Division of the Finance and Audit Department and Deputy Director of the Budget Division of the Finance Department of China South Industries Group Corporation (Sino-China South Industries Group Corporation); Deputy Director of Finance and Deputy General Manager of Jinan Qingqi Motorcycle Co., Ltd.; Deputy Director of the Finance Department of China South Industries Group Corporation; Deputy General Manager of China South Industries Group Finance Co., Ltd.; General Manager and Party Secretary of Chongqing Auto Finance Co., Ltd.; General Manager and Party Secretary of Changan Automobile Finance Co., Ltd.; Director of the Finance Department of China South Industries Group Corporation; and Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Chief Accountant of Dongfeng Motor Corporation. In June 2020, Feng Changjun was promoted to Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Chief Accountant of Dongfeng Motor Corporation.
According to its official website, Dongfeng Motor Corporation is a commercial-class state-owned enterprise primarily engaged in automobile manufacturing, sales, service, and technology research and development. Its predecessor was the Second Automobile Works, founded in 1969. Over the past 56 years, it has produced and sold over 62 million vehicles and paid approximately 700 billion yuan in taxes and fees. By the end of 2024, the company had total assets of 470.386 billion yuan and employed 117,000 people.
Recently, Dongfeng Motor has accelerated its reforms and has been making frequent moves in corporate operations and the capital market.
Lantu Auto Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Lantu Auto"), a subsidiary of Dongfeng Motor, has recently officially submitted its prospectus to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and will be listed through introduction.
At the same time, Dongfeng Motor's Hong Kong-listed company Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd. (Dongfeng Group Co., Ltd., 0489.HK) will also simultaneously complete its privatization and delisting, and will be replaced by Lantu as Dongfeng Motor's H-share listing platform.
In addition, the in-depth cooperation between Dongfeng Motor and Huawei is accelerating significantly.
On September 23rd, according to the Dongfeng Motor WeChat official account, Yang Qing, Chairman and Party Secretary of Dongfeng Motor, traveled to Shenzhen on the 22nd for talks with Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei and Huawei's Rotating Chairman, Eric Xu. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on strengthening strategic mutual trust, deepening strategic cooperation, and promoting innovation in corporate governance and operational mechanisms. Subsequently, there were reports that Dongfeng Mengshi may be entering into a new cooperation model with Huawei.
On October 9th, Dongfeng Yipai officially announced the public solicitation of Chinese brand names for the "DH Project," a joint venture between Dongfeng and Huawei. This collaboration is seen by the industry as a core initiative of Dongfeng Motor and Huawei.
