On September 23, at the Mingsha Mountain in Dunhuang, Geely once again sang the powerful voice of the times for Chinese brand fuel vehicles during its repeated journeys of exploration of Chinese culture.
That night, China Star's new Dongfang Yao series was announced to be on the market, ready to redefine the value standard of China's fuel vehicles with "design, intelligent technology, ultimate driving control, greater comfort, and Chinese-style safety". The official guide price of the new car is 98,700 to 179,700 yuan.

Dunhuang is the second stop in the fourth season of Geely China Star's "Cultural Tourism China Exploration Program." Starting in 2023, Geely China Star, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will launch this program, with China Star's dual flagship models designated as the official vehicles, to continue supporting China's cultural journey.
According to reports, adhering to the spirit of original design, the new Dongfang Yao series integrates China's profound cultural heritage into modern industrial design, achieving the symbiosis and integration of cultural symbols and technological products.
In terms of appearance, the new Oriental Yao series draws creative inspiration from the aesthetics of the Dunhuang Silk Road, and condenses three exclusive car colors: "Crescent Green", "Mogao Blue" and "Danqing"; in terms of interior, the new Oriental Yao series incorporates traditional elements with unique Dunhuang characteristics such as 3D laser carving of deer leaping stars, Yuequan Jade Jar crystal gear lever, 256-color ambient light of glazed colors, and singing sand and flowing gold environmentally friendly suede material into the cabin.

In terms of intelligent technology, the new Orient Yao series features the industry's most advanced GEEA 3.0 electronic and electrical architecture, achieving four fundamental breakthroughs through its integrated design encompassing hardware, systems, ecosystem, and AI. Regarding the intelligent cockpit, the new Orient Yao series is equipped with the Flyme Auto system, which has already surpassed one million users. Powered by the computing power of the 7nm Qualcomm 8155 chip, the system features a 25.6-inch full-color HUD and dual 14.6-inch ultra-narrow-bezel HD screens, supporting four-screen collaboration. This completely breaks the hardware gap between gasoline-powered vehicles and redefines the standard for gasoline-powered smart cockpits. Regarding intelligent driving, the new Orient Yao series is equipped with the Qianli Haohan H3 assisted driving system. This system utilizes 11 high-definition cameras, three millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars, along with a 128TOPS high-computing chip and high-precision sensing hardware. It maintains a "sight and hearing" system and boasts 34 leading intelligent driving assistance features.
In terms of driving performance, the all-new Dongfang Yao series features a 2.0TD high-power turbocharged engine and an Aisin 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering 200kW of maximum power and 400N·m of peak torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds, a 14% performance improvement. For enhanced comfort, the all-new Xingyue L Dongfang Yao not only features a massage seat for the driver, but also features a newly upgraded "Luxury Queen Passenger Seat" for a zero-gravity seating position. The rear seatbacks offer stepless electric adjustment from 30° to 40°, allowing every passenger to sit comfortably. Furthermore, the all-new Xingyue L Dongfang Yao series integrates its AI digital chassis with CCD variable damping suspension, achieving millisecond-level dynamic response. This allows the chassis to "think," anticipate and proactively adapt, ensuring composure even in bumps. In terms of safety and luxury, the all-new Dongfang Yao series is based on the four safety principles of "life, health, property, and privacy," providing comprehensive protection for drivers and passengers through nine systems: passive safety, active safety, functional safety, and information security.
Statistics show that gasoline-powered vehicles still account for half of China's passenger car market. The official launch of the all-new Dongfang Yao series by China Star demonstrates Geely Auto's commitment to a dual-track approach, focusing heavily on new energy vehicles while also continuing to invest in gasoline-powered vehicle research and development.

In the first half of this year, Geely Auto's total sales exceeded 1.4 million vehicles, achieving a 10.4% market share across all product categories. The "Geely China Star" lineup, comprised of star fuel-powered models such as the Xingrui, Xingyue L, Boyue, Emgrand, and Binyue, not only maintained its top spot in sales among Chinese fuel-powered vehicles, but also achieved an impressive 21% year-on-year growth, despite a significant downturn. To date, the China Star lineup has earned the trust of over 1.62 million users, making it the fastest Chinese premium model series in the 100,000-200,000 yuan fuel-powered vehicle market to surpass one million in sales.
