Following recent media reports that the Xiaopeng P7+ car had major quality defects and the vehicle encountered sudden failure of the power steering during driving, Xiaopeng Motors launched an urgent recall.
On September 12, an announcement on the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation showed that Zhaoqing Xiaopeng New Energy Investment Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Management of Recall of Defective Automobile Products" and the "Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Management of Recall of Defective Automobile Products". Starting from September 15, 2025, it will recall some Xiaopeng P7+ vehicles produced between August 20, 2024 and April 27, 2025, totaling 47,490 vehicles.
It is reported that for some vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to poor contact of the power steering motor sensor wiring harness, the steering sensor signal may fluctuate, the steering fault warning light may light up, and the power steering may fail, posing a safety hazard.
Zhaoqing Xiaopeng New Energy Investment Co., Ltd. will replace the improved steering gear assembly for vehicles within the recall scope free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.
