On August 21st, the Dongfeng Fengxingxing Hai V9 Yuexiang series, positioned as the only mid-to-large plug-in hybrid MPV under 200,000 yuan, officially launched. With five major upgrades in range, space, comfort, safety, and quality, it aims to become the "popularizer of new energy luxury MPVs."
It is reported that the official guide prices of the two versions of the new car are 179,900 yuan and 199,900 yuan respectively.
From the first Lingzhi ending the monopoly of joint venture MPVs in 2001, to the launch of the Xinghai V9 Yuexiang series in 2025, the cumulative global sales of Fengxing brand MPVs have reached 1.18 million units.
In order to truly understand user pain points, Dongfeng Fengxing surveyed 10,000 potential users and existing customers, and gained insight into the five major "dissatisfactions" of users of MPVs below 200,000 yuan: one is insufficient battery life, two is the difficulty in balancing third-row passengers and trunk space, three is the lack of comfort in the second and third rows, four is safety anxiety, and five is quality concerns.
The Xinghai V9 Yuexiang series was born for this reason. Chen Zhengyu, Product Director of the Dongfeng Xinghai V9, explained that to address the pain points of insufficient long-distance range and the high travel costs of fuel-powered MPVs, the new car is equipped with the Mach Dual Hybrid system, powered by Dongfeng Motor Corporation and recognized as one of the top ten "China Core" engines. With three firsts in its class, it achieves breakthroughs in both performance and fuel efficiency across all speeds and scenarios. Its CLTC pure electric range of 200km is the highest in its class, with a cost per kilometer of 0.12 yuan. Its CLTC fuel consumption per 100km is the highest in its class, at 5.27L/100km, saving 10,000 yuan per year compared to its peers. Its combined range of 1,300km is the highest in its class, allowing direct travel between Beijing and Shanghai.
In terms of space, the new car has a length, width and height of 5230*1920*1820mm and a wheelbase of 3018mm. The room ratio is 85.2%. In 7-person mode, it still has the largest trunk of 593L in its class. In terms of comfort, the new car's seats use 30mm high-rebound sponge seats of the 400,000-level MPV, which will not make you tired after sitting for a long time. The second-row seats are not only the only ones in its class that can be adjusted left and right, achieving the widest 200mm channel in its class, but also have heating/ventilation/massage functions. In terms of safety, the L2 intelligent assisted driving with 8 functions and 360° ultra-clear panoramic images can actively avoid accidents. The five-star safety body that won the "Top Ten Car Bodies in China in 2024" brings super-protective passive safety. In terms of quality, it provides the longest vehicle warranty policy of 8 years or 160,000 kilometers in its class.
