The Chengdu Hi-tech Zone Market Supervision and Administration Bureau issued a situation report on August 21.
In response to online concerns about "car owners reporting that 67.96 liters of gasoline were added to a 50-liter fuel tank," the relevant situation is reported as follows.
The gas station involved is the Gaoxin Tianshan Gas Station of the Sichuan Chengdu Sales Branch of China National Petroleum Corporation, located on Fangcao Street in Chengdu's High-tech Zone. The gas pump involved is a 06# pump. On August 9, 2025, the day of the incident, staff sealed the pump and it remains out of service. On the 11th, the Fangcao Street Market Supervision and Administration Office in the High-tech Zone received the complaint and promptly contacted the complainant. They then conducted an on-site inspection at the gas station on the 12th. A comprehensive investigation is currently underway, and the next step will be to handle the matter in accordance with the law and regulations based on the findings.
