SAIC Volkswagen's new Lingdu L recently made a stunning debut.

As a blockbuster new product celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Lingdu model and with sales exceeding 1 million units, the new car is positioned as a high-looking German A+ class coupe. It returns with the GTS model, aiming to become the first choice of "young people's first sports coupe" with its new appearance, power and quality.

The new Lingdu L has undergone a comprehensive evolution in exterior design. Its length has increased to 4791mm, and its width has reached 1831mm, creating a wide, low-slung styling. Its 2731mm wheelbase provides ample space. The front grille, similar to the Audi A3, features an L-shaped flying wing design, sharp-edged LED headlights, and IQ.Light dynamic lighting, creating a sense of technology and muscularity. The fastback roof and continuous waistline complement each other, creating a sharp coupe-like silhouette. The frameless doors are aesthetically pleasing, while achieving sound insulation and wind noise reduction levels comparable to the Audi A7L. The sleek, wide-body rear end combines visual impact with ample storage space.

As a returning GTS model, the new car is equipped with an exclusive cool black sports package. Elements such as smoked 19-inch wheels create a strong sports atmosphere, and the new sporty dual-exhaust design brings more powerful sound and coupe aura.

Inside, the cabin features an upgraded 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 12.9-inch central control screen. A racing-style multi-function steering wheel, coupled with the Wenxin language model and iFlytek voice system, creates real-time "AI customer service," enabling intelligent vehicle control and entertainment. Drawing inspiration from diverse fields, the new car offers five "Ling-Sense" exterior colors and two interior color options to suit individual user preferences.

The new Lamando L is available with either a 2.0T or 1.5T engine. The GTS model is equipped with the same high-powered EA888 2.0T engine as the Golf GTI, boasting a peak torque of 350 Nm and a 0-100 km/h acceleration of 6.98 seconds. Paired with a DQ381 dual-clutch transmission, it shifts in just 200 milliseconds. This powerful engine boasts a guaranteed 300,000 km without major overhaul. The 1.5T model features the sophisticated EA211 EVO II engine, a "net-efficiency king" capable of running on 92-octane gasoline, offering high fuel efficiency and reduced travel costs. The chassis of the new Lamando L has undergone nearly 100 adjustments to create a "China-class chassis" tailored to Chinese customers. The suspension, with its front McPherson struts and rear four-link independent suspension, delivers smooth handling and a comfortable ride.

In terms of safety, the new Lamando L adheres to German-style craftsmanship, utilizing technologies such as cavity wax injection and laser welding. Each bolt's tightening data is stored for 15 years. The entire vehicle undergoes rigorous 360° testing, including full-vehicle polar testing and extreme rain testing. The frameless door glass has undergone over 8,000 operating cycle tests, guaranteeing 10 years of worry-free operation. The vehicle utilizes 75.3% high-strength steel or higher, creating a racing-grade, rigid safety body. It is equipped with 10 airbags to reduce driving risks, and 15 high-precision radars and five high-definition cameras provide a 360° monitoring network. The Level 2 driver assistance system also handles complex road conditions with ease.

The return of the new Lamando L and GTS not only completes the high-performance vehicle family, but also elevates GT culture to new heights, signaling the "personalization of gasoline vehicles" and establishing a deep resonance of value with users. Further product details of the new car will be officially released at the 2025 Chengdu Auto Show.
