Following the announcement of cooperation with Huawei and Alibaba, BMW's localized innovation has taken another key step in the field of intelligent driving.
On July 15, BMW announced a partnership with Chinese technology company Momenta to jointly develop a new generation of intelligent driving assistance solutions for the Chinese market.

It is reported that this plan fully combines the advantages of both parties in the fields of artificial intelligence and automotive engineering, and creates a safe, reliable and practical intelligent driving experience on the "Chinese road" stage. The cooperation will focus on China's travel scenarios and user needs to create a "native" China-exclusive intelligent driving assistance solution.
The two parties will develop driving assistance function software based on the AI big model based on the intelligent architecture and hardware platform of the domestically produced BMW new generation models, and conduct continuous optimization and testing verification. With the advanced artificial intelligence algorithms provided by Momenta, the vehicle can understand complex road conditions and make decisions in a way similar to that of human drivers, improving its ability to adapt to dynamic environments.
This local driving assistance system will provide full-scenario, point-to-point pilot driving assistance functions, covering highways and urban roads, regardless of whether it is long-distance self-driving or complex congested road conditions. In the future, BMW owners can park out of the parking space, pass through the urban area, highway, urban area, and park in the parking space at the destination, realizing "one-stop" worry-free travel.

The solution will be applied to multiple models including the domestically produced new generation, covering multiple market segments. In the upcoming domestically produced new generation BMW models, the "driving control super brain", "panoramic iDrive human-computer interaction" and "Chinese local intelligent driving assistance solution" complement each other and will become the confidence for BMW to enter the first echelon of intelligent driving experience.
From Huawei, Alibaba to Momenta, BMW's cooperation with many Chinese technology companies shows that it has made a big bet on China in its intelligent transformation. The scope of cooperation has expanded from digital ecology and AI interaction to the field of intelligent driving assistance, achieving a "cross-dimensional" breakthrough from the virtual world to the real road.
