
A fire broke out at Sanyuan Energy Company in Xiaogang District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan on the morning of the 14th, and a large amount of smoke came out of the building at the scene. The Kaohsiung Fire Department said that after receiving the fire alarm at around 5 a.m., 46 rescue vehicles and 91 people were dispatched to the scene for rescue. Robots were used to extinguish the fire at the scene. The accident caused 12 employees to suffer minor abrasions and 3 firefighters to suffer minor burns. All of them have been sent to the hospital for treatment.

It is reported that the company is close to Kaohsiung Xiaogang Airport. Xiaogang Airport responded that the fire did not affect the take-off and landing of flights. At present, the cause of the fire and the property losses need further investigation.

The Kaohsiung Lithium Battery Plant of Sanyuan Energy Technology is the first super battery plant in Taiwan and is owned by Sanyuan Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Taiwan Cement Group. The annual production capacity of the high-end, high-capacity, high-charge and high-discharge nickel-based ternary batteries produced by the plant is 1.8 GW, which is equivalent to the long-range battery required to produce 24,000 electric vehicles per year.
