
On July 12, SAIC-GM’s 28th anniversary celebration kicked off grandly at Gate M, the trendy landmark of West Bund Dream Center in Shanghai.

Themed "Trendy Rebirth", this event will present the public with a summer car carnival over the two-day weekend that combines star models and concept car displays with diverse cross-border experiences, fully demonstrating SAIC-GM's new look and strong strength in its thriving, transformative development.
At the event, the GEN-Z exploration concept car showed SAIC-GM's deep understanding of the lifestyles of young consumers; the Zhijing sedan pilot car foreshadowed the "new" development direction of new energy sedans under the Buick "Xiaoyao" architecture. In the second half of the year, Buick Zhijing sedan will also be officially launched on the market, which is the mass-produced version of the pilot concept car. These two cars at the center of the main stage are exactly the meaning of SAIC-GM's "trend to new life" and the ultimate display of the company's positive and new development trend.

GEN-Z Exploration Concept Car
In the first half of 2025, SAIC-GM will launch a new Buick "Xiaoyao" super-integrated vehicle architecture that integrates four major technical domains, including power, chassis, intelligent driving, and smart cabin. As the first joint venture full-domain integrated new energy vehicle architecture based on the Chinese market, targeted at Chinese users, and developed by a local R&D team, the "Xiaoyao" architecture will be the technical cornerstone for it to become a leader in joint venture 2.0.
The new architecture has a strong expansion capability, which can realize the development and production of three full-body forms of MPV/SUV/sedan, three new energy technologies of pure electric/plug-in hybrid/extended range, and three full-drive modes of front-wheel drive/rear-wheel drive/four-wheel drive, to meet the future full-domain product needs. Based on the Xiaoyao architecture, Buick's new high-end new energy sub-brand "Zhijing" will launch new sedans, MPVs, and SUVs in the next 12 months.
It is reported that in the first half of 2025, facing a complex market environment, SAIC-GM's sales continued to improve driven by the upgrading of its main new vehicles and flexible marketing strategies. In June, SAIC-GM's terminal sales were 48,675 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 7.6%; new energy terminal sales were 7,832 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 13.2%.
As a witness and participant in the development of China's automobile industry, SAIC-GM has accumulated more than 24 million users in the past 28 years. Standing at the new starting point of its 28th anniversary, SAIC-GM is building a more competitive new energy and fuel product matrix, and is committed to becoming a leader in the joint venture 2.0 era.

In the field of new energy, it is planned to launch more than 10 new energy products from 2025 to 2027, and the penetration rate of new energy will exceed 60% by 2027; in the field of fuel vehicles, there will be 8 fuel vehicles from 2025 to 2027, which will bring the experience of "oil and electricity with intelligence" through technological innovation.
