On June 6, Zhu Huarong, chairman of Changan Automobile, pointed out clearly at the China Automotive Chongqing Forum that the current Chinese auto market has problems such as too many brands, confusing prices, exaggerated publicity by some brands, and some capital not aiming at the long-term and healthy development of the industry.
He emphasized that Changan Automobile firmly opposes vicious competition without moral and legal bottom lines, and proposed coping strategies: first, return to the core value of technological innovation and continue to increase investment in research and development, "no matter how poor, we must not be poor in research and development"; second, create differentiated products. For example, Avita has almost no competitors in the Thai market due to its differentiated advantages, and also ensures good profitability for dealers; third, do a good job of bottom-line analysis, stick to the service bottom line, and reserve sufficient cash flow to deal with uncertainty.
Zhang Xinghai, chairman of the SERES Group, also expressed his concerns about "involutionary" competition, believing that it would affect the synergy of the industrial chain, weaken the industry's resilience and endogenous driving force, and would be detrimental to the sustainable development of the industry.
Zhu Huarong said that Changan has always believed that intelligence is the real future of automobiles. At the same time, he mentioned that in terms of intelligent assisted driving, companies should fully learn from experience and lessons, insist that safety is the bottom line of intelligent applications, and choose safe and redundant technical routes to provide users with sufficient safety guarantees when relevant algorithms and small scenarios cannot be fully solved.
Yu Kai, founder of Horizon Robotics, believes that in the next three years, autonomous driving will reach a turning point, and the market will move from the publicity level to the user experience level, and will develop in the direction of creating user value.
Duan Jianjun, president of Mercedes-Benz Sales Company, said that China is at the forefront of the intelligentization of the automotive industry, and Mercedes-Benz's intelligentization progress is also deeply influenced by China. Taking the new pure electric long-wheelbase CLA as an example, its smart cockpit and autonomous driving are two major functional areas led by the Chinese team for research and development, and will also integrate the AI big model provided by Chinese partners to better meet the needs of Chinese customers. By 2027, Mercedes-Benz will launch 7 China-exclusive models and achieve comprehensive intelligent upgrades of its products.
