On June 2, Great Wall Motors' "Taklimakan Happy Week" event kicked off in Kashgar, Xinjiang, becoming a relay and continuation event after the 2025 Taklimakan Rally. This year's Taklimakan Rally saw the Great Wall Motors achieve outstanding results, with the Great Wall Tank Hi4 Motors winning the Manufacturers' Cup T2.E mass production new energy group championship, the Great Wall Haval Motors' second-generation H9 diesel version and Raptors fuel version, and the Great Wall Cannon Motors' V6 Cannon winning the top three places in the Manufacturers' Cup T2.1 mass production fuel group.

At the Taklimakan Happy Week, Wang Chao, deputy general manager of Great Wall Motors Technology Center, released China's first "off-road skill classification standard", which, together with the previously released "off-road vehicle classification standard" and "off-road scene classification standard", jointly built a "people-vehicle-scene" three-in-one off-road classification standard system. The classification system covers four dimensions of "experience, equipment, theory, and driving" to comprehensively evaluate the off-roader's operating ability and safety level.
According to the standards, off-road skills will be divided into four levels: from beginners to intermediate drivers, advanced drivers, and professional drivers, and they will be advanced and unlocked step by step. It is worth mentioning that the off-road skill classification will also be bound to the four typical off-road scenes of "snow, mud, mountain, and sand". Each scene is divided into four levels. Collecting off-road skills in the four scenes can also unlock the all-around driver's license and embark on the road to becoming an off-road master.
In the upcoming Off-Road Book APP, the system will open registration for off-road capability training according to different scenarios such as snow, mud, sand, and mountains. Users who sign up and accumulate enough points and light up the level 4 will be included in the list of Great Wall Motors' reserve drivers for the Taklimakan Rally, and are expected to compete with Great Wall Motors in next year's Taklimakan Rally.
Wei Jianjun, Chairman of Great Wall Motors, said: "Off-road driving brings a lot of emotional value to everyone, and it is very fun, but the most important thing is to have a sense of awe and to put safety first. Great Wall Motors released the off-road classification in the hope of providing guidance to everyone and allowing everyone to enjoy off-road driving more safely.
Wei Jianjun also mentioned that in the future Great Wall Motors will launch more models like the V6 Cannon that only require slight modifications before they can be experienced on the track, thereby lowering the threshold for everyone to experience off-road activities and even professional competitions, allowing off-road sports to benefit more groups.
