On May 16, as a dark blue right-hand drive S05 slowly rolled off the production line, Changan Automobile's first overseas vehicle factory, the Rayong factory in Thailand, officially went into production.
It is reported that the groundbreaking ceremony of Changan Automobile's Rayong plant in Thailand was held on November 8, 2023. The total investment was approximately 10 billion baht. It was officially put into production in just over a year. The production capacity has been built to 100,000 vehicles/year, and will be gradually expanded to 200,000 vehicles/year in the future.
This factory adheres to the "green and intelligent" design concept, and applies advanced technologies such as photovoltaic power generation, rainwater recycling, circulating air, virtual simulation, and digital base to reduce the energy consumption of each vehicle and improve manufacturing efficiency. This overseas factory is also the first new energy vehicle factory put into production overseas by a central enterprise, and has become a new business card for "China's smart manufacturing" to move towards the world.
In recent years, Changan Automobile has launched 7 new products in the Thai market, including Deep Blue S07 and Avita 11. According to the plan, Changan, Deep Blue and Avita will all be put into production at the Rayong plant in the future. In the next three years, Changan Automobile will also launch 12 new new energy products in Southeast Asia. It will also establish a Thai spare parts warehouse in Rayong to position itself as the global right-hand drive spare parts center. At the same time, it will upgrade the Thai digital intelligence service platform through AI empowerment to provide users with smart vehicle control, intelligent maintenance, battery monitoring, remote diagnosis and other functions.

This is also the 28.59 millionth car rolled off the production line of Changan Automobile worldwide. Since the 1990s, Changan Automobile has begun to develop overseas, and its products have been exported to nearly 100 countries and regions. The official start of production at the Rayong plant marks Changan Automobile's further leap from product exports to industrial exports.
Southeast Asia will be the fulcrum of Changan's global strategy. Changan Automobile will work with its Thai partners to jointly open up the full-chain overseas path of R&D, production, supply chain, sales and operations, and explore a new model of win-win and inclusive industry overseas with Chinese characteristics. Looking to the future, Changan Automobile will firmly adhere to the "four ones" goals, promote the global "152" layout of "embracing all rivers and seas", and plan to elevate the five major overseas regional markets to the same strategic level as the Chinese market.
