In the 100,000 RMB-level pure electric vehicle market, "family commuter" cars have almost become the standard, leaving consumers facing a long-standing dilemma of not being able to have both good looks and performance, or intelligence and quality. Most products are caught in homogeneous competition, lacking emotional resonance and self-expression.
Based on insights into this consumer demand, on November 27th, Leapmotor launched its new personalized strategic product – the Leapmotor Lafa5, positioned as a "high-value sporty sedan" – in Hangzhou, with the theme of "Defining Your Own Path". The company aims to break through the aforementioned market predicament with its product strength in the 200,000 RMB price range.
It is reported that the new car will be available in five models, with two range options: 515km and 605km. The official price ranges from 97,800 to 121,800 yuan, with a limited-time surprise price of 92,800 to 116,800 yuan. Multiple launch benefits will also be offered simultaneously. As a brand-new, distinctive product positioned above the B-series within Leapmotor, it was developed with a global perspective, deeply catering to European consumers' preferences for compact sports sedans, and featuring comprehensive upgrades in configuration, materials, and cost.
In terms of design, the Leapmotor Lafa5 adheres to the concept of "technological natural aesthetics," boasting a class-leading 1880mm wide body that creates a low-slung and stable coupe stance. The standard frameless doors and 19-inch swept-wing sporty wheels are considered "rare features" in the 100,000 RMB price range. These designs are commonly found in mid-to-high-end coupes, but Leapmotor has brought them down to the mainstream price point.

In terms of appearance, the new car offers six distinctive colors, including Electric Yellow, Wind Gray, and Morgan Pink, clearly targeting young consumers who pursue individuality. Furthermore, the Lafa5's exterior design has undergone over a hundred simulations and wind tunnel tests, achieving an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.256, and improving its range by 35km through 16 aerodynamic optimizations.

The interior is equally meticulously designed, with three premium interior options available: the Speed Purple is stylish and dynamic, the Shadow Gray is sophisticated and composed, and the Racing Gray features a combination of faux suede microfiber suede and Nappa full-grain leather, complemented by "extended racetrack" textures on the seats and exclusive "Lafa5" lettering, enhancing the sporty cabin's premium feel. It also boasts a large panoramic sunroof with intelligent electric sunshades, as well as up to 25 storage spaces and a 435L trunk capacity.

In terms of intelligence, the Leapmotor Lafa5 is equipped with a Qualcomm 8295P flagship cockpit chip, a 14.6-inch 2.5K high-definition central control screen, and an 8.8-inch LCD instrument panel, combined with the Leapmotor OS 4.0 Plus vehicle system, bringing an immersive visual interaction experience. Regarding driver assistance, the Leapmotor Lafa5 features 27 high-precision sensing hardware devices, including LiDAR, and a Qualcomm 8650 chip, supporting end-to-end driver assistance.
The Leapmotor Lafa5 maintains a rear-wheel-drive layout, which is uncommon in the 100,000 RMB electric vehicle market. Rear-wheel drive means a more complex structure and higher costs, but it also brings a more enjoyable driving experience and better acceleration. The 160kW motor can achieve a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.4 seconds, a maximum CLTC range of 605km, and a charging time of 18 minutes from 30% to 80% SOC.

The world's first VCU and MCU chip-level fusion technology improves power response speed by 5 times compared to traditional solutions. A 50:50 front-to-rear axle load ratio, front MacPherson strut and rear multi-link independent suspension, LMC integrated motion fusion control technology, and a small turning radius of 5.17 meters together give the Leapmotor Lafa5 sensitive steering, stable cornering, and extremely high handling limits.
The Leapmotor Lafa5 features a 9-horizontal, 7-vertical cage-like body design, with high-strength steel accounting for 77.5% of its structure. It also utilizes aerospace-grade 2000MPa hot-formed materials to create a robust passenger compartment structure. Regarding battery safety, the Leapmotor Lafa5 is among the first to meet the new national standards for power batteries and promises a lifetime free warranty on the battery for the first owner.

At the press conference, Cao Li, Senior Vice President of Leapmotor, disclosed that Leapmotor's profitability continued to be positive in the third quarter of 2025, achieving a net profit of 150 million yuan and revenue of 19.45 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of nearly 100%.

Since March 2025, Leapmotor has maintained its position as the top-selling new energy vehicle brand in China for eight consecutive months, achieving its annual sales target of 500,000 units ahead of schedule. Building on this milestone, Leapmotor will strive to reach 1 million units in annual sales in 2026.
